NFL Hall of Famer and former VP of player personnel Gil Brandt indicated that Lloyd should be contacted by the Bears.
“Frankly, I don’t think it will be long before we see that a woman break through this NFL barrier. I’d give her an honest tryout when I had been, say, the Bears.”
The Bears have attempted out nine kickers because the conclusion of this 2018 season. Cody Parkey, their kicker last season missed 10 field objectives, including a potential game-winner in their decrease in the NFC Wild Card round against the Eagles and the team now has Eddy Pineiro as their kicker.
“So many men and women are starting to believe’will there be a feminine [participant ] from the NFL?’ I believe we are sort of at that crossroads so far as equality and women empowerment.
I got some enquiries, I got folks talking. Anything’s possible but I’m strictly a football player and we’ll find out what the future holds,” Lloyd told Sports Illustrated.
