Padraic Joyce is intended to triumph Kevin Walsh as director of the senior footballers.
There has been weeks of speculation amid unrest compared to who will take the reins at the county – and since the passing of Walsh at the helm after five years – it appears that two wheeled All-Ireland winner Joyce is set to land the job.
The 42-year-old is thought of as one of the countys greatest footballers of modern times.
In 2019 he managed that the U20 side and he has now been given the nod to direct the senior side once he had been preferred to former Limerick, Laois and Tipperary manager Liam Kearns.
Following interviews to the position of Galway senior football manager, the meeting committee will be recommending Padraic Joyce and his selectors John Divilly, Mich??al ?? Domhnaill along with John Concannon for ratification to the county and management committee at their meeting next week, Galway GAA stated in a statement.
Galway GAA want to thank Liam Kearns because of his interest in the blessings of Galway and wish him well in the future.
After the draw has been made this 20, their championship campaign will open away to New York next summer.
