Barry Trotz cant be happy with the effort his team put forth last night in Raleigh. In the Islanders expense, the Hurricanes are 5-0-0 for the very first time in company history. The Hurricanes took the NHL by storm last year with their hot run.
The Canes were held from the Closing by an experienced Bruins club, however, it was a triumph nevertheless for this group. Trading Jeff Skinner to the Sabres appeared like the indication of days for the Hurricanes, although they only got better. As did the Sabres, therefore it was a triumph for both sides.
The Panthers were expected to reach the playoffs as at bottom seed last year. That did not come to fruition and Bob Boughner was fired for this. Where the Panthers are going this year yet, its way too early to gauge, theyre among these wildcards of their NHL.
Joel Quenneville must enjoy what he is seeing though the previous two games did not result in wins. That will come when they keep at it, however. Unfortunately for the Panthers, they are on a road likely and back-to-back are likely to be seeing an Islanders squad inside this contest.
The Islanders must be better and I think they are much better than what weve seen from them thus far in the 2019-20 campaign. Robin Lehner is no more using the Islanders, however, it wasnt all Lehner. It was a team effort to the Islanders. Nearly all of that same group is back.
The Isles have let 3.25 goals per match to open the season, which can be way off by the 2.33 per match they enabled this past season. That said, a four-game sample size is useless. Start looking to put a much better attempt jointly tonight after getting in their past two outings. The Panthers had to perform minutes last night and I doubt will be flying around for over 40 shots.
