If Tiger Woods wins his fifth green coat Sunday, at least one Las Vegas bettor will feel like a million bucks. Literally.
A William Hill gambler Tuesday put an $85,000 bet to win $1.19 million on Woods to catch the Masters at 14-1 chances. The bet represents the largest liability for someone golf bet in William Hill’s U.S. history.
“It is going to earn a great tournament even more intriguing, if that’s even possible,” William Hill sportsbook manager Nick Bogdanovich explained.
Woods hasn’t won the Experts since 2005, along with his triumph in the Tour Championship in September was his first victory in over five years.
“He’s playing nicely. Obviously has a shooter,” Bogdanovich said. “But the top tier of players is really deep today, you must play four excellent rounds to get it done.”
Woods is the Experts money leader at the Westgate, where a bettor placed a $10,000 wager to win $120,000 on him to triumph at Augusta National Golf Club.
