Tyson Fury insists he has coached as challenging for competitor Otto Wallin because he did against Deontay Wilder for his world heavyweight title fight.
Fury considers a victory on the unbeaten Swede will pave the way and faces Wallin at Las Vegas on Saturday.
Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has questioned the standard of Fury’s current competitions however, also the’Gypsy King’ says he’s currently anticipating a struggle this weekend.
“I really don’t underestimate anyone. I give everyone the ultimate respect,” said Fury. “Even if I am fighting with a man who has had 20 fights and lost 20, I will train like he has had 20 knockouts in a row. I don’t fail to prepare.
“I’ve trained hard for this battle, as hard as I trained for Wilder, as hard I have trained for anyone. I’ve not overlooked him.
“I have been in America for five months instruction, I had been in Spain for 2 weeks before I had been coaching in home for two weeks ahead.
“I am as powerful as I’ve ever been, I feel very healthy and quite precise. We have been working on different items in the fitness center. He’s a southpaw tall and also a defensive fighter. That always is a struggle.
“But I have never met with a challenge I could not defeat, I have never met a mountain I could not scale and I’ve never met a guy I couldn’t defeat – and he’s no exception”
Fury faces Wallin on the weekend at the anniversary of Mexican Independence, a conventional date for major struggles in Las Vegas.
Fury wore a Lucha Libre wrestling mask along with the colours to a pre-fight public work on Wednesday, and the former WBA, WBO and IBF champion says it was his decision.
“I was not designed to box with this particular weekend. I was assumed in New York in early October,” said Fury.
“But when we heard that [Saul] Canelo Alvarez wasn’t likely to be battling Mexican Independence weekend, so I thought’Damn, what a shock’.
“This has been a particular weekend for boxing in Las Vegas for many years. I thought that the Mexican men and women aren’t likely to have a main attraction therefore I need to measure in.
“So I introduced my struggle date forward four weeks”
