NFL Hall of Famer and former VP of player personnel Gil Brandt proposed that Lloyd should be contacted by the Bears.
“Frankly, I really don’t think it will be long until we see a girl break during this NFL barrier. I would give her an honest tryout if I were, say, the Bears.”
The Bears have attempted out nine kickers since the conclusion of the 2018 season. 10 field goals were missed by cody Parkey, including a potential game-winner within their 16-15 loss in the NFC Wild Card round from the Eagles along with the group currently has Eddy Pineiro as their kicker.
“So many men and women are starting to believe’will there be a female [participant ] in the NFL?” I believe we are kind of at the crossroads as far as people empowerment.
I got a few enquiries, I got people talking. Anything’s possible but right now I’m strictly a football player and we’ll find out what the future holds,” Lloyd told Sports Illustrated.
The US Women’s National Team play with a friendly while the Eagles see with the Jets at MetLife Stadium. Could a woman kick in the NFL? Yes, Lloyd has the leg strength and others do but sadly it will not occur within this preseason.
