After winning the hearts of pretty much everybody, Ajax will be eager to replicate (or even better ) the pops of last season — and I’m backing them to begin their campaign with a flourish against Lille.
Erik ten Hag stays with the club, which is a massive boost, and I am confident they’ll never let standards drop too much, as they have retained a lot of last season’s team — with the obvious exceptions of Matthijs de Ligt along with Frenkie de Jong.
Lille have had a mixed start losing their opening 2 Ligue 1 away games from Amiens and Reims–and it’s a tall order to get anything.
RB Leipzig look good this season, and I have them beating against Benfica away in the house.
Although very top of the Bundesliga sits — the side have tasted defeat at home this campaign — even a loss to Porto.
Even a 3-1 away win in a Borussia Monchengladbach costume a few months ago is proof of Leipzig’s art on the street, and I’m confident about their opportunities.
I have RB Salzburg beating at Genk.
Genk have fought domestically this year, dropping Zulte Waregem, KV Mechelen and Sporting Charleroi and winning only one away game so far.
Proceedings have been completely dominated by salzburg and season showed their prowess on the point, winning both Europa League team matches from Rosenborg, Leipzig and Celtic, before succumbing at the knockouts to Napoli.
