Lincoln City boss Danny Cowley has now agreed to become the new manager of Huddersfield Town, Sky Sports News knows.
After handling just one success from his 19 matches in charge of the Yorkshire side jan Siewert left Huddersfield.
After the German’s dismissal, Mark Hudson was named as the Terriers’ interim supervisor and oversaw their Sky Bet Championship games against Reading, Cardiff and Luton, which ended in defeats.
Huddersfield are now second from bottom in the Championship table after getting 1 point out of six matches at the onset of the season.
Cowley, that has been in control of Lincoln to the previous few years distanced himself out of a movement to West Yorkshire on Tuesday .
He explained:”For people, no disrespect to Huddersfield, that are an outstanding club and have had an amazing period getting in the Premier League, but we have worked very hard at this soccer club over the years we have been here.
“Our team is in a great location, so for us to think about moving our families and ourselves out of this soccer club it might need to be the ideal chance.”
Cowley had confessed to holding talks with Huddersfield over the vacant place, but dismissed speculation he was going to carry more than Sheffield Wednesday boss, prior to Garry Monk’s recent appointment in Hillsborough.
After managing 176 matches for Lincoln, overseeing the advertising in back of the club to the Football League at 2017 he is set to leave Sincil Bank.
The former Imps boss also directed his team into the quarter-finals of their FA Cup in the 2016/17 campaign when Lincoln were in the National League, beating Burnley, Ipswich and Brighton at the process.
Cowley’s negative were crowned League Two winners last semester, winning the division by a six-point margin.
His first game in charge will be against Sheffield Wednesday at the John Smith’s Arena on Saturday, live on Sky Sports Football from 11.30am; kick-off 12pm.
